Choosing a location: the Country → Level 1 → Level 2 → City cascade
The four location boxes are one funnel, and every level is optional. How to search a whole country, a single suburb, or anything in between.
Location in FindAndClose is a cascade of four dropdowns: Country, then a first-level division, then a second-level division, then a city. Each box filters the one after it — pick Norway and the second box only offers Norwegian counties.
Every level is optional, on every plan
You do not have to reach the bottom of the cascade. Stop at Country and the search covers that whole country; stop at a level 1 division and it covers every city inside it. No rung of this ladder is sold separately. Starter runs a country-wide search exactly as Enterprise does.

A level 2 division is a department in France or a county in the United States; a level 1 division is a région or a state. One search at level 2 covers every city inside it, instead of one search per city — which is a saving in your time, not in your bill.

Geography is not a feature we ration. Every scope in the table above, every filter, all every indexed market and all 4,000+ categories are on Starter. What the tiers differ by is how many leads you may export a month, and a handful of operational things — the full list is here. Sizing a market costs nothing either: previewing never spends a credit, only exporting does.
The labels change per country
There is no universal name for an administrative division, so we show the local one rather than forcing an American vocabulary onto the world. The boxes are labelled from the country you picked.

Finding a city quickly
The city box is a search field, not just a list. Type three letters and it matches on a
prefix, so osl finds Oslo. Results are ordered by how many businesses we hold in
that city, so the place you almost certainly meant is first. At most 50 cities are offered at
a time — narrow the level above if the one you want is not there.
When the cascade is the wrong tool
Administrative boundaries and commercial catchment areas are not the same shape. A dentist practice ten minutes' drive away can sit in the next municipality. When the area you care about does not match a boundary, switch to Geo Search and set a radius around a point, or draw the shape yourself. Both are on every plan, at any size, so you can plan a territory around them without checking what tier you are on.
Combining location with everything else
Location narrows where; activities narrow what; filters narrow which ones are worth contacting. All three apply at once, and the count at the top of the results updates as you change any of them. Nothing is charged until you export.
Common questions
Can I search two cities at once? Not in one search. Run one search per city, or move up to the division containing both and use a filter to trim — that route is open on every plan. Two exports of two cities cost the same credits as one export of both, so this is a question about your time rather than your bill.
Why is the count lower than I expected for a small town? Coverage depends on how many businesses in that market maintain a map listing at all — see where the data comes from.
Does the cascade cost anything to browse? No. Only an export deducts credits.
