How lead credits work

One credit is one business, exported once, in a rolling 30-day window. When they are deducted, when they are refunded, and what happens when you run out.

Everything you buy on FindAndClose is denominated in lead credits. The definition is short and it is the same on every plan:

One credit = one business, exported once, within a rolling 30-day window.

What does and does not cost a credit

ActionCredits
Running a searchNone
Changing filters, paging through resultsNone
Reading the match countNone
Exporting a row for the first time in 30 days1
Exporting that same business again inside 30 days0
Re-downloading a file you already exported0
Resuming an incomplete exportOnly the rows it newly writes
A row that turned out to be suppressed or removed0 — refunded on settlement

The first line is the important one: searching is free. Build and refine the search as much as you like; the meter starts at the export.

A fully-populated row and an almost-empty row cost the same

A business with all 64 columns filled and a business with only a name and an address are both one credit. We do not price by field, because that would create an incentive to pad rows with junk. If you only want rows worth paying for, filter before exporting — Has email and Has website are the two that move the number most. See the filters.

Reserve, then settle

When you press Export, we reserve credits for the estimated row count immediately, so two people on the same account cannot both spend the last thousand. When the job finishes we settle: if it produced fewer rows than estimated, the difference goes straight back. You are billed for rows written, not rows predicted.

A reserved balance is not a spent balance

While an export is running your available credits will look lower than your usage. That is the reservation. It resolves within seconds of the job completing. See what happens after you press Export.

The rolling 30-day window

Deduplication is per business, per account, on a rolling window — not per calendar month and not per export. Export Cervello Tannlegesenter on the 3rd and again on the 20th and you paid once. Export it again on the 40th day and you pay again, because the window has moved past the first export.

This means overlapping searches are safe. Running "dentists in Oslo" and then "dental clinics in Oslo" does not double-charge you for the practices that appear in both.

When the allowance resets

On your billing date, not on the first of the month. The dashboard shows the exact reset timestamp. A fresh month's allowance arrives, and what you did not spend either rolls over or expires depending on your plan — Starter none, Growth one month, Scale three months, Enterprise twelve. See what happens to credits you did not use.

Running out

Nothing is charged automatically. There is no overage rate and no surprise invoice. You get a warning in the app at 80% and again at 100%. Past 100%:

  • Search, filtering and the API's read endpoints keep working.
  • Export calls return HTTP 402 with credits_exhausted.
  • Re-downloading an export you already paid for still works.

You then either upgrade — prorated to the day, credits available as soon as payment clears — or wait for the reset.

Growth€9950,000€0.00201 month
Scale€249250,000€0.00103 months

Pay for volume. Never for access. The per-lead rate falls by roughly half at each step, because volume is the only thing the ladder sells. It is not a geography ladder: country-wide search, Geo Search, every indexed market, all 4,000+ categories, every filter and all 64 export columns are on Starter exactly as they are on Enterprise.

What else moves with the tier is short and operational: seats, credit rollover, the REST API and MCP server, extra export formats, how long finished files are kept, and support response times. The full comparison is here, and the pricing page is the authority if the two ever disagree.

Where the balance is shown

Top right of the dashboard, and over the API on the account endpoint, which returns what remains, the quota it is drawn from and the timestamp it resets at. See authenticating with an API key.

If your balance moved and you cannot account for it: my credit balance dropped more than I expected.
