Local business leads in Sweden, trade by trade

Sweden sits second of the four by record count. Norway is the one above it.

The file runs from gyms at the top down to carpenters at the bottom.

The headline is the website gap. 1,213 of these firms run on a Maps listing and nothing else.

That is 19% of the whole country file. For a web agency it is the entire pitch list.

The email side reads 19%. So 1,219 of the 6,404 give you an address to write to.

The rest give you a phone number and a door. Both still work, and both cost more time.

Every number on this page comes out of the live database. We do not round them up and we do not model them.

A count you cannot check is a count you should not trust. So we print ours next to the date we took it.

Read the third number first. It is the one that tells you who has nobody selling to them yet.

A firm with no site has no agency, no retainer and no marketing manager to get past.

The second number tells you how you can reach them. A low email count means a phone list, not a bad list.

7 of our 25 Swedish trades clear that floor. 18 do not.

The largest of the thin ones is estate agencies, at 278 records. That is real data. It is not a list you can run a campaign on.

Most of those sit within a hundred records of the line, so a deeper crawl of Sweden moves several of them onto the published side.

You can still export any of these inside the app. There is no lock on a small category.

What we will not do is build a landing page that claims a national list and hands you a hundred rows.

Which is how a thin list gets sold twice. It is also how a search engine learns to skip a whole site.

Swedish, and a first name

Swedish business talk is plain and informal. First names from the first line, even to a founder.

Skip the honorifics and skip the long wind-up. Say what you want by sentence three.

English is safe in Stockholm and safe in most inboxes. Swedish still wins the reply rate.

A Swedish subject line with an English body is a fair trade. It shows effort without a bad translation.

The register is called Bolagsverket

Sweden keeps its company data at Bolagsverket, the Swedish Companies Registration Office.

Each firm holds an organisationsnummer. That number ties a trading name to a legal entity.

The free search at bolagsverket.se returns the legal name, the form and the registered office.

Check a lead there before you send a quote. A shop and its holding company are not always the same firm.

Consensus, fika and the summer gap

Swedish firms talk a decision through before they make it. One yes is rarely the last yes.

Plan for a second meeting with more people in the room. That is not a stall, it is how the yes gets built.

The coffee break is real and it is called fika. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon are poor times to cold call.

July empties out. Midsummer, on the Friday between 19 and 25 June, empties the week around it too.

• First seen and last seen, so you know how old a row is
